Aufenthalt » Duldung
If you are not eligible for a residence permit, the migration office often issues a so-called Duldung. This is not a secure residence status, but temporarily certifies that you cannot be deported.
You are entitled to a be granted a Duldung if deportation is impossible for factual or legal reasons. Such reasons can for example exist if you do not have a passport or you have a disease that requires treatment in Germany. If it suits your interests, we can represent you in these proceedings in close consultation with doctors treating you.
The right of residence now also provides an option of a so-called Ausbildungsduldung or Beschäftigungsduldung. These protect you from deportation during your training or employment. Afterwards, you can acquire a residence title that offers you a secure perspective of staying.
The law explicitly recognizes options to obtain a Duldung due to vocational training or a long-term employment (Ausbildungsduldung & Beschäftigungsduldung). These protect you from deportation during your vocational training or employment. Afterwards, you can acquire a residence title that offers you a secure perspective of staying.
